SUMMARY:National Addiction Leadership Conference
DESCRIPTION:NAATP National 2021 Date Change\nNAATP National 2021\, the 42nd National Addiction Treatment Leadership Conference of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers\, will take place in 2021 on a new date\, December 7-9\, 2021. NAATP leadership\, in consultation with NAATP members and public health officials\, determined that it is contrary to our attendees’ health and safety to hold the conference as planned in May\, so we are moving to December\, live and in person. The move protects our community while maximizing the benefits of the conference in terms of number of attendees\, conference content\, sponsorship\, and exhibitors. \nThe move was made as an alternative to holding a virtual conference in May with its limitations. NAATP wants to bring our community together as soon as possible with the kind of meaningful\, safe convening we all need. Denver in December makes that possible. Mark your calendar with the date change and look for additional information in your inbox soon. \n\nConference Overview\nNAATP National is one of the most relevant\, engaging\, and influential conferences in our industry. This leadership conference remains unique and critically important as the leading educational and networking event within the addiction treatment field. Our conference is held annually and rotates locations around the nation.   \n\n100+ Addiction Provider & Vendor Exhibit Booths\n700+ Attendees\nEarn up to 10 CEU credits\nCEO Leadership Luncheon\nPresentation of the Addiction Leadership Awards \nRegistration includes sessions\, materials\, breaks\, and breakfast\n\n\nSafety Measure Standards\nNAATP is continuously monitoring the developments surrounding COVID-19 and working with the Sheraton to coordinate a safe environment for our annual conference. The safety and well-being of our community and attendees is our top priority. We are working to implement enhanced procedures to safely welcome you to the conference and the confidence to connect.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Baby Boomers & Substance Use - How Holistic Care Can Help
DESCRIPTION:Free NAADAC Webinar\nSince 2001\, the misuse of prescription drugs by older adults has increased by over 100 percent. The primary reason for the increase of substance use among baby boomers is later-in-life transitions. To curb the increase of substance use\, older adults must be equipped with strategies on how to manage substance use disorders and their overall well-being. Yoga and meditation are proven healing modalities\, effectively assisting those suffering from co-occurring disorders by initiating the body’s relaxation response. This webinar reviews later-in-life transitions faced by baby boomers\, effects these changes can have on older adults\, and how substance use disorders and mental health can be managed through holistic treatments such as yoga and meditation.\nPresenters: Shevel Mavins\, MS\, CASAC\, CSAC\, ICADC\, and Kaii Marie Torrence\, BA
